From RatGate, this 4-inch Stainless Steel Rodent Prevention System is designed to stop rats from migrating into your properties from the sewer system in a humane way. UK-manufactured and compatible with both the up and downstream direction of flow, it blocks the rat's path without restricting water and waste on its way to the drain.

With an innovative liftable flap mechanism, you are able to open the RatGate system with ease. There is no need to withdraw the whole system, which makes for the effortless installation of cameras and inspection materials. Free of poison and environmentally kind, this RatGate system is suited to 4-inch clay and 110mm PVC systems.

Question:

If this is fitted at an angle in an interceptor to a sewer, will it be as effective, or are additional measures needed?

Answer:

When fitting a RatGate in an interceptor access pipe, it largely depends on the angle at which the pipe has been constructed. In some cases, the pipe may be set at 45 degrees, which can prevent the flap from closing fully.
