Designed to breathe new life into your faded pre-cast black and dark grey concrete coping stones, Eurodec's water-based Coping Stone Sealer and Restorer is a permanent staining solution that is easy to apply. As well as restoring existing coping stones to their former glory, Eurodec Coping Stone Sealant/Restorer can also be used as a sealer to protect your new black or dark grey stones.

The solution helps to prevent grout and jointing material from penetrating the stones and, once treated, they will resist deep staining from organic matter and pollution. This will make the cleaning of your coping stones and the removal of any potential stains much easier.

When preparing surfaces before applying Eurodec Coping Stone Sealant/Restorer, ensure the surface is clean and dry. On older stones, be sure to remove any blackspots, lichen, algae, mildew and stains.

Please note:

  • This product is a permanent staining solution that will darken the surface and any pointing or grouting, making it incredibly difficult to remove once applied - for this reason, gloves are recommended. Before applying, test on an inconspicuous area before general application and do not walk on treated surfaces until the solution has completely dried.
  • Do not apply when surface temperatures are under 5°C or over 25°C.
  • Clean the tools and brushes used to apply this sealer with water after use.

Is it diluted, and how is it applied?

Answer:

Ready to use. Apply straight from the bottle. 

Most sealers/restorers like this are formulated to be used undiluted so they penetrate properly — diluting them can reduce effectiveness. Always check the label first.

  • Clean the stones thoroughly – remove dust, dirt, algae, lichen, blackspots and other contaminants.
  • Ensure the surface is completely dry before application; moisture will prevent proper absorption and can dilute the effect. 
  • Wear gloves — the solution stains and is hard to remove once on skin or unwanted areas. 
  • Apply with a brush, sprayer or roller – spread evenly over the stone surface.
  • Work in strips or manageable areas so you don’t miss any spots.
  • Do not walk on the surface until fully dry. 
  • Wipe away excess from the surface if it sits without absorbing — this helps avoid patchy shiny spots once dry.
  • Ideal surface/air temperatures roughly 5°C to 25°C. 
  • Don’t apply in wet or freezing conditions.
  • Always test on an inconspicuous area first to make sure you like the colour/depth result. 
  • Clean tools with water immediately after use.
