The stopend upstand has been designed to sit where the coping meets a wall. By installing the stopend upstand at an adjoining wall a weathertight seal will be created, retaining the integrity of the wall and the coping, prolonging the lifespan and minimising weathering over time.
Each aluminium stopend upstand is supplied with a fixing strap. The fixing strap method of installation is a great way to ensure the coping is weathertight and long lasting, as no penetration of the coping is required.
The Skyline range of aluminium copings has been designed as an economical and easily installed cap that sits on upstanding parapets, or in conjunction with flat or pitched roofs. The aluminium copings are extremely lightweight, which improves the installation time, whilst also being durable and non-corrodible, helping to maximise the lifespan and resulting in minimal maintenance. As a result, the aluminium coping has a lifespan of 40 years in rural or suburban areas, and up to 25 years in industrial or marine areas.
The copings are installed with a strapping method, which means there is no penetration required, which helps to improve weathertightness. Additionally, the strapping method also allows ventilation to occur over the top of the wall. This strap fixing provides rigidity and strength, but the fixings are not visible, improving the overall aesthetics of the product.
The aluminium range of Skyline coping is also popular amongst sustainable and environmentally friendly products, because aluminium is 100% recyclable – this means that it can be recycled and reused when it reaches the end of its lifespan.
